Frequently Asked Questions

What does Calli Mexica do, and what other spaces do they offer?
Calli Mexica is a platform dedicated to offering online courses, workshops, and cultural experiences , all led by traditional masters. Our goal is to preserve and share ancestral wisdom through deep and practical learning.
We also offer Art Mexica , our brand for free cultural outreach, where we share short videos, interviews, and materials on social media so that knowledge reaches everyone.
Both projects are part of the same mission:to honor our cultural heritage and keep it alive for future generations.
Can I take classes with you for free?
We share educational videos, interviews, and free cultural content through Art Mexica on social media (YouTube, Facebook, and Spotify).
These resources are perfect for introducing you to ancestral knowledge. Just follow us and check out our content to start learning.
If you're looking for guided learning, direct interaction with instructors, and a deeper dive into the topics, we recommend our paid live courses, where you’ll enjoy a structured and hands-on experience.
Why do live courses cost money?
Sharing culture requires commitment, hard work, and resources. Our courses are taught by instructors with years of experience , and each one is designed to offer you a safe, meaningful, and authentic experience.
Behind every class lies preparation, dedication, and unavoidable costs : technology, permits, taxes, and equipment that make a reliable, high-quality experience possible.
Just as we wouldn’t ask a farmer to give away his harvest, we cannot undervalue the time and wisdom of those who dedicate their lives to teaching.  Your contribution not only covers a course; it sustains a chain that allows us to share our cultural heritage.

“In life, we have two purposes: the work that pays the bills and the work that improves the lives of others. To make the second one possible, you need the work that pays the bills.”  – Xicomemazatl

Culture is priceless, but promoting it requires dedication. Thanks to you, we can share it with others.
How much do the courses cost?
The cost of each course varies depending on the subject, the number of class hours, and the depth of the content.
All our prices include VAT  in the final cost.
On average, the approximate cost is $250 to $290 MXN per hour of class, which is an affordable rate considering the preparation, direct interaction, and effort involved in providing you with a reliable and enriching experience.

Who are the Masters?
Our courses are led by traditional teachers with years of experience, trained through oral tradition and dedicated to preserving ancestral knowledge. Each one shares what they have experienced and what their own journey has taught them, beyond academic credentials.
Their collaboration with Calli Mexica is based on a professional services arrangement, which means that each teacher retains autonomy in their work and in the activities they undertake outside our platform. Any personal opinions or projects they share in other venues are their sole responsibility.
You can get to know them better through their interviews and sample classes on our YouTube channel:
Which variants of Nahuatl do you teach?
We currently teach two varieties of Nahuatl:
✔ Masewalkopa Nahuatl, spoken in Santa Ana Tlacotenco (Mexico City)
✔ Nahuatl of Tlaxcala
Both are living languages and are taught with a practical and cultural focus so that you can use them in your daily life and connect with their deeper roots.
What's the point of taking these courses?
Engaging with them is not just about acquiring information; it is about embarking on a process of personal and collective transformation. The teachings of ancient cultures help to:
  1. ✔ Rebuild your identity and take pride in belonging to magnificent cultures that have often been overlooked and portrayed through colonial narratives that have distorted their way of life.
  2. ✔ Find meaning in your life and your place in the world, from a perspective that goes beyond anthropocentrism: not as someone superior, but as part of a whole that is sustained by balance.
  3. ✔ Strengthenyour personal and community journey by recognizing that everyone has something to contribute and also boundaries that must be respected.
  4. ✔ Look at your life and your surroundings with fresh eyes, rediscovering principles that foster strength, respect, and awareness of the world around us.
In other words, these courses help you forge your own path based on knowledge that uplifts, empowers, and connects you with what truly matters.
